MetaProp is a proud signatory of The CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ pledge, which aims to rally the business community to advance diversity & inclusion within the workplace by working collectively across organizations and sectors. Learn more here.
As a leading firm at the intersection of real estate, technology and venture capital, MetaProp strongly believes that inclusion, diversity and mutual respect are critical to the health and longevity of both our business and the broader real estate technology ecosystem.
The real estate, technology and venture capital industries do not always have the best reputation for diversity and inclusion. At MetaProp, we believe in an inclusive and diverse work environment where all individuals feel respected, are treated fairly, provided work-life balance, and an opportunity to excel in their chosen careers. We are committed to taking the necessary steps to diminish bias and increase inclusion by listening to different viewpoints, opinions, thoughts and ideas and embracing a culture of inclusion.
Accordingly, we prioritize inclusive hiring practices and make efforts to continue to invest in diverse founders who reflect the communities we live and do business in. Diversity is beyond how we hire, but it is fundamentally embedded in how we operate. We are especially proud to bring together underrepresented backgrounds across our investment, platform and shared services teams.
Additionally, we are committed to a safe work environment. We work hard to be an organization free from harassment as well as discrimination on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, physical and/or mental disability, socioeconomic status, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, transgender status, age, sexual orientation, and military or veteran status, or any other basis protected by law.
Anyone engaging with or on behalf of MetaProp - whether you are an entrepreneur at one of our portfolio companies (or a prospective entrepreneur), a business partner, an investor, an employee, an intern or a vendor - is entitled to be treated with respect and should respect others. We do not tolerate harassment of any kind.
We encourage our portfolio companies and limited partners to prioritize diversity, inclusion, and safe work environments and actively support them via regular communication and best practice sharing.
We regularly review and update our policies, on-boarding processes, and training protocols under the leadership of the MetaProp Advisory Board. In July 2019, our team came together to support a framework that clearly defines inappropriate behavior boundary levels for all parties and makes it easier for victims to report incidents without fearing retaliation. We believe that all employees and partners (not just a victim) are responsible for flagging potentially inappropriate behavior. If we see something, we should say something.
If an individual feels that he or she has been treated inappropriately and/or harassed they should immediately report the matter to his or her supervisor. If that person is not available, or if the employee feels it would be unproductive to inform that person, the employee should immediately email us at: conduct@metaprop.com. Once the matter has been reported it will be promptly investigated and any necessary corrective action will be taken where appropriate. All complaints of unlawful harassment will be handled in as discreet and confidential a manner as is possible under the circumstances.
